Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 10/24/25

The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Spooktacular this Saturday, October 25, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., in Downtown Plainfield.

Halloween is Friday, October 31 and trick-or-treating hours will be from 4-8 p.m. As families make plans for trick-or-treating, the Village and Police Department would like to share some helpful safety guidelines.

The Police Department is participating in the DEA National Takeback Day this Saturday, October 25. You can dispose of unwanted medications at the Police Department, 14300 S. Coil Plus Drive, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. More information.

The Village’s contractor is planning to start work the week of October 27 on new streetlight installations on 143rd Street (from Wallin Drive to Steiner Road) and at the intersection of 135th Street and Naperville Road. The work is expected to take approximately three months to complete.

This week, the contractor worked on forming the bridge deck, pavement foundation, and installing traffic signal conduit.
