Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 7/3/25

The annual fireworks show is tonight at Bott Park! The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The CN Railroad has scheduled repairs to the Center Street Railroad Crossing. Center Street will be completely closed to traffic at the crossing beginning Wednesday, July 9 at 8 a.m. through Friday, July 11 at 1 p.m.

Final asphalt paving is scheduled for early next week in the Chatham Square and Stewart Ridge Subdivisions. Crews continue to work on concrete removal and replacement in the Walker's Grove Subdivision, east of Meadow Lane. Survey crews will be on-site for the next few months collecting the necessary topographic survey information for design engineering in the Old Town South area. For more information regarding this project, visit the Public Improvements Page on the Village website.

The Village’s contractor is scheduled to begin work on the Pavement Crack Fill Program. The contractor will fill asphalt pavement cracks with a fiber modified crack fill material to prevent water infiltration, preserving and extending the pavement life. Please drive carefully and be patient in work zones.

On Friday, July 11, the Village and Plainfield Park District are showing The Wild Robot (PG, 101 minutes), sponsored by Baxter & Woodman, Inc., at 8:30 p.m., in Settlers' Park. Plus, you can visit with the Police Department, Fire Protection District, and Plainfield Area Public Library. For more information, click here.
