Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 9/27/24

The Plainfield Community Homecoming Parade is tomorrow, September 28, in Downtown Plainfield. The parade will step off from Plainfield Central High School at 9 a.m. For more information on the parade route/staging, road closures, and parking, please read the Homecoming Parade press release.

The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest 5K/10K Run/Walk and Kidz Miler is this Sunday, September 29 in Downtown Plainfield.

It's National Hunger Action Month! Donations for the community food drive which benefits Bags of Hope, the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry, and St. John Lutheran Church Food Pantry, will be accepted at Village Hall through September 30. Click here for donation ideas and more information.

The framing for the new bridge deck is nearly complete and steel reinforcement installation will start next week. The new deck/concrete superstructure is scheduled to be installed in early October. Please continue to follow the designated detour route or use alternate routes.

The top slab of the new concrete culvert has been installed and the wing walls will be installed next week. New water main installation on Indian Boundary Road will begin soon.
Indian Boundary Road remains closed to through traffic between Rowley Road and Creekside Drive. Local access will be provided to homes within the project limits.

The contractor completed the installation of the curb and they will begin paving work next week. Johnson Road is open to local traffic only. However, short-term closures of Johnson Road are expected when the intersection is paved with the final layer of asphalt. 143rd Street Corridor website.
