Indian Boundary Road Construction
The Indian Boundary Road Bridge project will begin the week of August 12. Indian Boundary will be closed to through traffic, between Rowley Road and Creekside Drive, for approximately three months. The project includes the removal and replacement of the culvert conveying Spring Hole Creek across Indian Boundary, as well as the widening and reconstruction of Indian Boundary between Rowley and Creekside. Renwick Road Shared Use Path
Construction of the Renwick Road Shared Use Path from Arbor Drive to Route 30 is underway. Placement of the asphalt path is expected to take place next week. Concrete work is scheduled for the week of August 12 with site restoration to follow. Short-term lane closures on Renwick Road are expected during construction. |

Old Town North Roadway Reconstruction
Curb and gutter work are complete on Eastern Avenue from IL 126 (Main Street) to the railroad tracks. Crews are now working to install new sidewalks and new asphalt pavement. Next week, crews are scheduled to begin storm sewer work on Lockport Street.

Fort Beggs Shared Use Path
Construction of the Fort Beggs Shared Use Path from River Road to Route 59 is in progress. Concrete work has been completed and excavation work for the asphalt path started today. Asphalt placement is expected to take place next week with substantial completion the week of August 12. Short-term lane closures of Fort Beggs Drive are expected to occur during construction. |

Street Improvement Program
The Village’s 2024 Street Improvement Program is underway. The project includes asphalt resurfacing, removal and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement, pavement striping, and other miscellaneous items. Overall project completion is scheduled for August. Location and project information can be found on the Village website’s Public Improvements page. |

Community Emergency Response Team
Do you want to help your family or others during an emergency or disaster? If your answer is yes, register for the 2024 CERT class which begins August 27. The CERT program is free and educates you about disaster preparedness, fire suppression, first aid, and more. For more information, email cert@plainfieldema.org. |

Traffic Safety Campaign Results
The Police Department partnered with IDOT, the Illinois State Police, and other law enforcement agencies to help reduce speeding in July. During the campaign, 78 speeding citations were issued. For details, click here.
