Comprehensive Plan Open House
The Village is nearing the final stages of its update to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and is holding an Open House on Tuesday, July 30, to garner feedback on new exhibits for the plan created by the Village’s consultant, Houseal Lavigne. The open house is informal, stop by Village Hall any time between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you and appreciate your input! |

127th Street Bridge Update
The Village Board awarded the repair contract for the 127th Street Bridge to D Construction on July 15. Work is anticipated to start in August with an expected completion date by the end of October. The bridge will remain fully closed throughout the duration of the repair. Thank you for your continued patience. |

Pavement Program
The Village’s contractor is scheduled to begin work on the Pavement Crack Fill Program on July 31. The contractor will fill asphalt pavement cracks with a fiber modified crack fill material to prevent water infiltration, thus preserving and extending the pavement life. Work is scheduled in the Shenandoah, Tuttle Estates, and Vintage Harvest Subdivisions as well as on Renwick Road and 248th Avenue. Each subdivision is expected to be completed within 1-2 days. Please drive carefully and be patient around the work. |

Street Improvement Program
The Village’s 2024 Street Improvement Program is underway. The project includes asphalt resurfacing, removal and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement, pavement striping, and other miscellaneous items. Overall project completion is scheduled for August. Location and project information can be found on the Village website’s Public Improvements page. |

Community Emergency Response Team
Do you want to help your family or others during an emergency or disaster? If your answer is yes, register for the 2024 CERT class which begins August 27. The CERT program is free and educates you about disaster preparedness, fire suppression, first aid, and more. For more information, email cert@plainfieldema.org. |
