Mayor Argoudelis is seeking applicants interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. Commission members attend monthly meetings to review applications and make recommendations on requests for local landmark and historic district designations, certificates of appropriateness, and other preservation matters. Prepping your yard for winter? Be sure to check your mailbox!
-Check the post for signs of aging; if necessary, replace it.
-Tighten the hinges so the door closes properly.
-Replace missing/faded house numbers so that the Postal Service can properly identify your home.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is introducing Move Illinois: the 2024 Long-Range Transportation Plan. The plan will outline goals, objectives, and strategies for Illinois' diverse transportation network for the next 20-30 years. Residents are encouraged to visit the plan website, www.moveillinois2024.com, to learn more about the project and complete a survey.

• Halloween is Tuesday, October 31 and trick-or-treating hours will be from 4-8 p.m. As families make plans for trick-or-treating, the Village and Police Department would like to share some helpful safety guidelines.
