- The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce is holding two more Cruise Nights this season! Head to Downtown Plainfield on Tuesday evening, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., to check out the classic cars.

Old Town Update - Phase 1 Utilities
Eastern Avenue was closed at the railroad tracks to all vehicular traffic on August 9 for the installation of a new water main under the tracks. The work will take approximately two weeks depending on field conditions. The existing detour for Eastern Avenue will remain in place until all work is completed. Once completed, water main installation will begin at the Lockport Street railroad tracks, with Lockport Street anticipated to be closed at the tracks for the duration of this work. |

Old Town Improvements - Phase 2 Utilities
Construction of the Old Town Phase 2 improvements is scheduled to begin in late August. Water main, storm, and sanitary utility work will take place on Bartlett Avenue, Center Street, Amboy Street, and Evans. The work is expected to be completed next spring. Please note: The public information meeting originally scheduled for August 15 has been rescheduled for August 29, at 5 p.m., at the Plainfield Public Works Facility, 14400 S. Coil Plus Drive. |

Community Blood Drive
We need your help! The Village is hosting a community blood drive on Wednesday, August 23, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street. Blood that is collected will go to area hospitals to help those in need. Please make an appointment to donate by clicking here. Walk-ins are welcome. |

Community Visioning Workshops
The Village is updating its Comprehensive Plan and needs your input! Join us on Wednesday, August 30, at 7 p.m., for a 143rd Street Corridor Community Visioning Workshop and on Thursday, August 31 for a Downtown Visioning Workshop. Both workshops will be held at Village Hall. Attendees will identify priorities, issues, and opportunities in the Village and then participate in a mapping exercise to develop their vision for Plainfield's future. |

Senior Health & Wellness Fair
Representative Benton, the C.W. Avery YMCA, the Plainfield Park District, and Plainfield Township are hosting a free Senior Health & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, August 30, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the C.W. Avery YMCA. There will be health services, a community expo, raffles, giveaways, and more! For more information, click here.
