Pack up the kids, chairs, and bug spray and head to Settlers' Park tonight! We're showing The Bad Guys, sponsored by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., at 8:30 p.m. Before the movie, you can visit with the Plainfield Public Library, the Fire District, and Police Department. Plus, the Mr. Salty's Popcorn Truck will have great snacks available for sale! The 2023 Movie Series is sponsored by Illinois American Water. National Night Out
The Police Department is hosting National Night Out at Settlers' Park on Tuesday, August 1 from 5-8:30 p.m. A new sensory hour has been added from 4-5 p.m. Stop by and join in the fun! There will be bounce houses, a dunk tank, a Touch-A-Truck, live music, and free food! For more info, click here. |

Armored Truck Challenge
There's still time to register... The Police Department's Armored Truck Challenge will be held on August 1, in conjunction with National Night Out, at the Village Hall. The event benefits the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. For more information, click here. |

With this week's hot, humid temperatures, we wanted to remind everyone that the Police Department, 14300 Coil Plus Drive, is available for those in need of a cooling center. If you are in need of assistance, call the non-emergency number at 815-436-2341, unless the situation dictates calling 9-1-1. |

Street Improvement Program Update
Concrete work is expected to be completed the week of July 31 on Riverwalk Court. This project includes asphalt resurfacing, removal and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement, and pavement striping. Mobile Food Pantry
The Northern Illinois Food Bank will be holding a Mobile Food Pantry at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, on August 8 from 4:30-6 p.m. (Please arrive by 4 p.m.) The Mobile Food Pantry provides healthy food to those in need. |

Community Blood Drive
The Village is hosting a community blood drive on Wednesday, August 23, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street. Blood that is collected will go to area hospitals to help those in need. Please make an appointment to donate by clicking here. Walk-ins are welcome. |

Community Visioning Workshops
The Village is updating its Comprehensive Plan and needs your input! Join us on Wednesday, August 30, at 7 p.m., for a 143rd Street Corridor Community Visioning Workshop and on Thursday, August 31 for a Downtown Visioning Workshop. Both workshops will be held at Village Hall. Attendees will identify priorities, issues, and opportunities in the Village and then participate in a mapping exercise to develop their vision for Plainfield's future. |
