Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 6/2/23

• The Farmers Market begins Sunday! Stop by the Plainfield Library parking lot between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to pick up some fresh produce.
• Cruise Nights are back! Beginning next week, classic car nights will be held Tuesday evenings, in Downtown Plainfield, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The Riverfront Center will be open on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the building and peruse the educational center which tells the story of how Plainfield grew along the DuPage River. The Riverfront Center is located at 24321 W. Lockport Street, off of Countryman Drive.

Asphalt pavement work is expected to begin June 6 in the Crossings at Wolf Creek Subdivision while concrete work continues in the Golden Meadows and Riviera Estates Subdivisions. This project includes asphalt resurfacing, removal and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement, and pavement striping. Overall project completion is scheduled for August. Location and project information can be found on the Village website’s Public Improvements page.

Head to Settlers' Park for lots of summer fun beginning June 9 with the showing of Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. Concerts begin June 15 with a performance by Voyage. Bring your questions for the Village and join Mayor Argoudelis for Evening with the Mayor in Settlers' Park on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m.
Chief Miller will also be providing an overview of the Police Department. (In case of inclement weather, this event will be held in the Village Hall.)

ComEd has tentatively scheduled pole relocation work on Lockport Street between IL Route 59 and the CN Railroad tracks to start as early as the week of June 12 or the week of June 19. Work will also include pole relocation on Eastern Avenue in the Old Town neighborhood. Additional information on the project schedule, traffic control, and potential road closures associated with this work will be included in an upcoming e-news.
