Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 4/14/23

On Wednesday, April 19, weather permitting, utility work will progress to the block of Lockport Street between Eastern and Hartong. New storm sewer, storm structures, and long water services will be installed within this section. A full westbound and eastbound Lockport Street detour will be implemented for all thru traffic. The intersections of Lockport/Eastern and Lockport/Hartong will remain navigable to local traffic. For more information and a road closure/detour map, click here.

Beginning Monday, April 17, a paving contractor will be patching various streets in the Village. At each patching location, the surface layer of pavement will be removed and repaved on the same day. The work is weather dependent and is expected to be completed within two working days.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank is holding a Mobile Food Pantry at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, on April 18 from 4:30-6 p.m. The Mobile Food Pantry provides healthy food to those in need. 

Residents can dispose of unwanted medications at the Plainfield Law Enforcement Center on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Village is updating its Comprehensive Plan and needs your input! Join us on Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m., for a Community Visioning Workshop at Village Hall. During the workshop, attendees will identify priorities, issues, and opportunities in the Village and then participate in a mapping exercise to develop their vision for Plainfield's future.
