Homecoming Parade
The 70th Annual Plainfield Community Homecoming Parade is this Saturday, October 8, in Downtown Plainfield. The parade will step off from Plainfield Central High School at 9 a.m. and follow a new route. New Police Chief Appointed
Mayor Argoudelis and the Board of Trustees recently appointed Robert Miller as Plainfield’s new Police Chief. Mr. Miller has 30 years of experience in law enforcement and most recently served as Deputy Chief in Wheaton, Illinois. He will begin his new position on October 10. Old Town Project Update
The majority of the underground work on Lockport Street, between 59 and Bartlett, is now complete. Next week, sanitary manholes will be installed on Lockport between Bartlett and Eastern. This will require full road closures along Lockport where work is taking place. Center will also be closed at Lockport when work takes place at the intersection. Water main installation work is also slated to resume at Eastern. The temporary detour remains in place. More info. |

Mobile Food Pantry
The Northern Illinois Food Bank will be holding a Mobile Food Pantry at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, on October 12 from 4:30-6 p.m. (Please arrive by 4 p.m.) The Mobile Food Pantry provides healthy food to those in need. |

Early Voting
The Will County Clerk’s Office will conduct early voting for Will County residents at the Village Hall beginning October 24 and continuing through November 4. Voting hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. For more information, visit willcountyclerk.gov. For Kendall County early voting information, visit kendallcountyil.gov. |

Halloween Safety
Halloween is Monday, October 31 and trick-or-treating hours will be 4-8 p.m. As families begin to make plans for trick-or-treating, the Village and Police Department would like to share the following safety guidelines. Have a safe and happy Halloween! |

Consolidated Election
The Consolidated Election will be held on April 4, 2023. The Village will have three (3) Trustee positions open. Each position is for a four-year term. Petitions are now available. To receive a petition packet, please email mgibas@goplainfield.com. The first day to file petitions is December 12, 2022 at 9 a.m. The last day to file is December 19, 2022 at 5 p.m. |
