New Pace Facility Officials from Pace, the Village, and Northern Builders celebrated the start of construction on the new Pace Maintenance and Storage Garage near the Plainfield Park-n-Ride. The facility will allow for the expansion of Pace’s Bus on Shoulder Express Service and create space for additional vehicles needed to operate the popular service. Mobile Food Pantry The Northern Illinois Food Bank will be holding a Mobile Food Pantry at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, on January 12, from 5-6:30 p.m. Food is free to low income neighbors in need and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.
Utility Assistance -For utility assistance and information on the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), please contact the Will County Center for Community Concerns at (815) 722-0722. -Nicor Gas offers a number of assistance programs for residential customers. Christmas Tree Disposal Just a reminder...Waste Management will pick up live Christmas Trees and decorative greenery on your regular refuse collection day. Please make sure that all ornaments, lights, and tinsel are removed. Trees should be bundled properly and placed at the curb. Larger trees must be cut so that each piece is four feet or shorter in length and width and tied with string, weighing 50 pounds or less. Regular yard waste collection will resume in April 2021.
COVID-19 Updates -The Will County Health Department is asking residents that are interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine to complete this survey as part of their distribution preparation. -COVID-19 Testing will be available January 11-17, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., in the parking lot of the Prairie Activity and Recreation Center, 24550 W. Renwick Road. -The State of Illinois remains under Tier 3 mitigation efforts. For more information on what this means, click here. -When outside your home, please wear a mask and socially distance.
