Aggravated UUW/Poss. Handgun Under 21 PPD Incident #26-41865
(PEORIA, IL) On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Peoria Police officers observed a wanted subject in the 600 block of W. RB Garrett Avenue.
Police then approached the subject, identified as 18-year-old Demarcus Crowder, and took him into custody without incident.
During the arrest, officers recovered a handgun from Crowder's possession. The firearm was equipped with an illegal full-auto switch, converting it into a machine gun, and contained a high-capacity drum magazine.
Crowder was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Machine Gun), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid FOID Card, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition Without a Valid FOID Card (Incident #26-41865).
Additionally, Crowder was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Battery – Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Aggravated Domestic Battery related to Incident #26-28923. He was also arrested on a Peoria County warrant for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (WOF 25JD16).
Crowder was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
