Aggravated Discharge UPDATE PPD Incident #26- 32626
Update: Peoria Police Detectives are requesting assistance from the community regarding a shooting investigation that occurred at Glen Oak Park on Monday, May 25, 2026, at approximately 6:10 p.m.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have recorded video footage related to this incident, including cellphone video, private surveillance footage, or dash camera recordings, to contact the Peoria Police Department.

Previously Reported: (PEORIA, IL) On Monday, May 25, 2026, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers with the Peoria Police Department responded to the 2200 block of N. Prospect Rd. at Glen Oak Park regarding reports of multiple shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd fleeing the area, along with numerous vehicles attempting to leave the park.
During the response, officers located a vehicle that had crashed within the park while attempting to exit the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, officers learned that at least two male subjects fled from the crashed vehicle on foot. Officers also observed a handgun equipped with an extended magazine inside the vehicle.
A short time later, officers located and detained a suspect identified as 20-year-old Harlem C. Porter.
Following an interview at the Peoria Police Department, Porter was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Fraudulent Identification Card, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Leaving the Scene, and Reckless Driving.
Porter was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
