Aggravated Battery with a Firearm
PPD Incident #26-24793
(PEORIA, IL) On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 9:44 p.m., officers with the Peoria Police Department responded to the 1800 block of N. Lehman Road for a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male outside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.
Through the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 32-year-old Latanisha U. Jones. Officers subsequently located Jones and took her into custody without incident. She was transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.
During a search of the residence, officers recovered a handgun.
Following the investigation, Jones was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Domestic Battery and transported to the Peoria County Jail.
