Agg. UUW, No FOID, Poss. Stolen Firearm PPD Incident #26- 24399
(PEORIA, IL) On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Peoria Police officers observed a vehicle traveling on Brandywine Drive that was believed to be connected to a prior fleeing traffic stop. The vehicle subsequently came to a stop in the 2600 block of Lavalle Court.
Officers approached the vehicle and observed four occupants inside. During the course of the investigation, a search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the recovery of a loaded handgun. The firearm was later determined to have been reported stolen.
As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Dorrean Ellis was taken into custody and transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning. Following the interview, Ellis was formally charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Criminal Damage to Property, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID Card.
Ellis was subsequently transported to the Peoria County Jail.
