Village of Oswego sent this bulletin at 12/21/2023 07:00 PM CST
Wolfs Crossing opening
The Village of Oswego has confirmed that Wolfs Crossing from Harvey Road to Devoe Drive will reopen to traffic at noon on December 29.
This segment includes widening Wolfs Crossing to four lanes from Harvey to Devoe and adding Oswego's first roundabout at Wolfs Crossing and Harvey Road.
The Village will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at the roundabout on December 29 at 10 a.m. Read the press release here.
Navigate with confidence
As final work is completed at Wolfs Crossing, here are some important guidelines on roundabouts:
Traffic proceeds in a counterclockwise direction.
Yield to traffic already inside the roundabout, and to pedestrians in crosswalks.
Choose the appropriate lane before entering. If turning right, use the right lane; if turning left, use the left lane.
If emergency vehicles enter the roundabout while you are navigating, continue through the roundabout and immediately yield to them after exit.
The new Oswego location plans include a café. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2024 for a summer 2024 opening.
December Business of the Month
Congratulations to the Village Grind Coffee & Tea Co., the Oswego Economic Development Commission Business of the Month for December. Founded by Lee and Bernie Moe in 1996 and later purchased by Jodi and Dave Behrens in 2004, the Village Grind has become more than just a coffee shop – it's a favorite community gathering spot.
The Village Grind offers a wide variety of beverages, including freshly ground coffee and smoothies, homemade baked goods, sandwiches and soup. The business is run by three generations of the Behrens family.
The Village Grind is located at 19 Main S. Street in Oswego. Learn more about the Village Grind's award.
Holiday closures and waste collection
Village Hall facilities will be closed December 25 and 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday, and January 1 in observance of New Year's Day.
Garbage will not be collected on December 25 and January 1. During these two weeks, collection will be delayed by one day.
Christmas tree collection will take place from January 2 to 12. Remember: Don't use bags and remove any lights and ornaments before you put your tree on the curb.
Open house for new water source
The Village will host an open house on the new water source from 5 to 7 p.m. on January 17 at Village Hall. Staff will be available to discuss and answer questions on the connection to Lake Michigan water, as well as new utility rates.
Village Hall is located at 100 Parkers Mill in Oswego.
