Labor Day reminders
Village offices are closed Monday, September 4 in observation of Labor Day. Garbage and recycling collection is delayed one day due to the holiday.
Oswego Fire Protection Department will conduct training exercises through September 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
These exercises will take place at two vacant houses located at 6 and 12 W. Van Buren Steet in downtown Oswego. This training helps enhance OFPD firefighters' skills and preparedness for a variety of emergency scenarios in an actual home setting. Please be aware that theatrical smoke will be used and a number of fire trucks and personnel will be parked in the area.

Public Works crews will flush water mains from September 5 through the end of the month.
Signs will be posted in each area to alert residents of flushing. Since work starts at 7:30 a.m. on days that crews are in your neighborhood, finish your laundry before 7 a.m. or begin after 6 p.m. to avoid rust discoloration of clothes.
Flushing cleans water mains by running high flows of water through fire hydrants to get rid of iron deposits that could produce discolored water and possibly damage water meters. Flushing also helps deliver fresh water to dead end water mains.
