For the best service, place all brush at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday morning of the designated week for your zone, but no earlier then noon the Friday before. Pile brush neatly so that the ends of the branches are all facing the same direction and in piles no higher than four feet. Do not put brush in a container or in the street.
Don't miss this Saturday's Shred Event hosted by the Police Department at Oswego's Public Works facility, 100 Theodore Dr. Starting at 9 a.m., boxes of paper will be accepted until the shred trucks are full, or 1 p.m., whichever comes first.
Once you've dropped off your boxes of unwanted documents (limit 3), head over to the Kendall County Safety Center, West John Street and Cornell Lane in Yorkville, to safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn more about the Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The Oswego Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will present a guided walking tour of the Downtown Oswego Historic District (DOHD) on May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Learn about the rich history of the buildings and their multiple uses across the years at this free event. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2022, the DOHD runs along Main Street from approximately Jackson to Washington streets. Learn more and register.
Six hours of country hits at Venue 1012
Join us Memorial Day weekend on May 27 as we kick off the Venue 1012 summer season with a six-hour country music extravaganza! Country Bash-Oswego Honors Veterans features a full day of high-energy non-stop performances with the Alika Arlynn Band, Tim Gleason Band and headliner Whiskeyfist.
Dance, listen and sing to the music that you love from both today and yesterday. Beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, along with tasty selection from food trucks.
Tickets are required for this event: $20 for ages 13 & up and free for active military. Kids 12 & under are always free at Venue 1012 events.
