Pre-Mother's Day outing on the Fox
No need to buy a Mother's Day gift when you can share an experience with the whole family the weekend before at Wine on the Foxon May 6 and May 7. There's plenty of space at Hudson Crossing Park to set up your lawn chairs or blanket, sip wine and beer, and listen to live music on the Fox River. Kids can get their faces painted and work out extra energy at the huge playground.
Don't feel like cooking? We've got you covered with local food trucks offering grilled cheese, traditional tacos, BBQ, fresh gourmet potato chips and made-to-order pizzas.
Admission is free. However, a ticket package is required if you'd like to enjoy beer and wine. Buy ahead of time to save money and get the most value. Bonus! The ticket package for two includes a gift voucher to use at select downtown merchants.
Do you have a student who is home for the summer? If they enjoy working outdoors, send them our way! The Village is hiring for seasonal jobs that offer the opportunity to work under summer skies. Positions include Venue 1012 event staff (16+) and public works team members (18+).
One person's junk is another's treasure! Residents are welcome to participate in the Oswego Community Yard Sale on Friday, June 2 and June 3. If you'd like to host a sale on either or both days, register by May 22. The Village helps promote the sale by placing a print ad in the Oswego Ledger with lists of neighborhoods and addresses.
No matter what time of the year you host a yard or garage sale, refer to the Village's guidelines:
A permit is not needed to host a sale.
Signs may not be posted on utility posts or street signs.
No more than TWO signs are allowed on your property.
Remove all signs at the close of the sale.
Last chance to order rain barrels
Online orders for rain barrels are due by April 16. Take advantage of this opportunity to purchase a discounted barrel and pick it up at the Public Works facility on April 21 and 22.
The Police Department is hosting a free drive-up Shred Event on Saturday, April 22 at the Village's Public Works facility, 100 Theodore Dr.
Prevent identify theft by brining your personal and financial documents to be shredded. Starting at 9 a.m., boxes of paper will be accepted until the shred trucks are full, or 1 p.m., whichever comes first. There is a limit of 3 large file boxes.
Save a bundle on summer fun
Get ready to listen to live music with family and friends this summer at Venue 1012. In addition to 9 free concerts and events, you can save by purchasing a bundle of all four ticketed concerts. When you buy a bundle by May 7, you receive the equivalent of at least one free concert.
