Pay Oswego bills online

Did you know you can pay your water, sewer maintenance and garbage collection bill by credit card online? You may also sign up for autopay.

Learn more and register to pay at the Customer Self Service Portal. Follow the instructions carefully to register your account. Please call our Utility Billing Department at 630-554-2282 if you need assistance.

Smoke detector law

Starting January 1, a new Illinois law requires that home smoke alarms must be equipped with 10-year sealed batteries.

Homes built after 1988 that already have hardwired alarms or wireless integrated alarms are exempt from the new law.

Take a few minutes to check your smoke detectors and make a shopping list to replace old devices that have removable batteries.

Is your home radon safe?

Radon is a gas that you cannot see, smell or taste--but it can be dangerous. It's the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

The only way to determine if your house has a safe amount of radon is to test. The test is simple, quick, and inexpensive. The Kendall County Health Department is currently offering test kits for a fee of $7.00, which includes shipping and lab fees. Test kits may be picked up at the Kendall County Health Department.
