 Warmer weather and burglary prevention
Residents who leave their windows or doors open to catch a breeze could unwittingly become targets of burglars who cruise neighborhoods looking for such opportunities. Property owners can reduce the likelihood of becoming a burglary victim by following a few simple steps such as closing and locking all doors and windows. Spring cleaning fire safety tip
A spring cleaning message from our colleagues at the Oak Park Fire Department:
A simple fire safety tip – clean your clothes dryer lint filter, every time. You are at a higher risk for fire if you do not clean your lint filter and dryer vent. Clean the lint filter before and after each load of laundry. Clean lint out of the vent pipe every three months. Have your dryer cleaned regularly by a professional, especially if it is taking longer than normal for clothes to dry. Find more fire safety tips online at www.oak-park.us/firesafety.
