 Bolstering Oak Park's cycling network
Oak Park has an updated plan for maintaining and growing the community’s bicycle network. Earlier this year the Village Board adopted an update to Oak Park's Bike Plan that builds on the Village’s foundational work over the past two decades in creating a safer and more accessible community to bike. Plan objectives include creating a bicycle network where cyclists of all ages and abilities see bicycling as a safe and comfortable option. The Bike Plan Update reflects feedback gathered during the process of updating the plan, recommending actions along 20 corridors in Oak Park over the coming years with short, medium and long-term timelines. Read more about the Bike Plan and how it is taking shape on the Village website.

Grant funding available for energy efficiency upgrades
Stay warm this fall and winter by sealing up drafts and upgrading your furnace. The Village has Climate Ready Energy Grants to support energy efficiency improvements such as insulation, efficient windows and doors, and upgrading from a gas furnace to an electric heat pump. All homeowners qualify for a $1,000 grant. Grants of $10,000 and $5,000 are available depending on income eligibility. A new feature of the program allows the Village to pay the grant amount to contractors directly, reducing the upfront costs paid by residents. Learn more about how to apply on the Village website.
