 Waste Management Landscape Waste Pickup Runs through the First Full Week of December
Collection Requirements
Landscape waste materials must be placed in biodegradable paper "Kraft" type bags, up to thirty-three (33) gallons in capacity. Shrubbery cuttings, tree branches, twigs, must be placed in a kraft paper bag OR in a securely tied bundle. Ties must be made of string or twine. Branch bundles must not exceed 4 feet in length. Bags containing landscape waste and/or branch bundles cannot exceed 50 pounds in weight.

Board of Review Window for Lemont Township Now Open Until November 21
The Cook County Board of Review has opened their appeal window for Lemont Township residential property owners. The window to file an appeal is open through November 21, 2025. The Board of Review advised that property owners do NOT need to submit comps to file an appeal, as the Board of Review will conduct their own research for the property owners. However, if a property owner chooses to submit their own comps, the property owner can follow the prompts on the Lemont Township Assessor’s website at www.lemonttownship.org/departments/assessors-office under the Find Comparable Properties tab to locate comps.
In our latest release, Lemont Unlocked visits Moreno's Mexican Restaurant and Salsa Bar, which sits in the heart of Lemont Downtown with food from the heart of a family.  Collections can be dropped off at the MIBOX units in place in the east parking lot of Old Quarry School. The MIBOX units remain available for drop offs until filled or until November 14. Giveaway day is Saturday, November 15. Please place your donations as far back in the MIBOX units as possible to make room for as many winter clothing and household item donations as possible.
There will be a last chance "Drop off and Donate" on Friday, November 14, from 3-3:30 p.m. on the east side of Old Quarry. Pull up to the small gym door and students will be ready to unload your treasures!
NOTE: If your young person needs community service hours, or simply wants to come help us, have them come to Old Quarry on Friday, November 14, from 3-5 p.m. and/or Saturday, November 15, from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. (drivers are needed to relocate donations to other charities/thrift stores in the area).

 Food sorters and drivers for delivery are needed between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Public Works garage on Saturday, November 22.
Non-perishable food collection of boxed or jar items to go with the turkeys are being collected through Friday, November 21, and can be dropped off at the bin in the Lemont Police Department entryway, Digs on Canal and Three Stories Books.
This includes boxed mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuit mix, stuffing, veggies, apple or cider juice, vegetable oil, and boxed dessert mixes.
Donations can be made through their website at www.hopeandfriendshipfoundation.com to provide the fixings for $15, or whatever you can offer.

Since 1861, the steeple of the Old Stone Church has been a beacon over Lemont—standing watch through generations, a symbol of resilience, community, and enduring history. Today, time has taken its toll, and this cherished landmark is in urgent need of $64,000 worth of restoration.
The Lemont Area Historical Society is committed to preserving the Old Stone Church, not only as their home, but as a cornerstone of local history.
