Dear Neighbors,

On Sept. 23, Lake County is hosting a public meeting to share progress on its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Comprehensive Transition Plan. In my recent newsletter, I included information about how to attend in person. Lake County will now also be providing an online option for attendees to view the opening presentation and provide input. More information can be found below:

Public Meeting: Lake County’s ADA Transition Plan
Date: Tuesday, September 23
Time: 5 - 7 p.m.
Location: Lake County Central Permit Facility, Second Floor, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, IL 60048

The goal of the ADA Comprehensive Transition Plan is to enhance accessibility across County programs, services, activities, public buildings and pedestrian facilities such as sidewalks, crosswalks and curb ramps within the public rights-of-way.

The meeting will include a short presentation, followed by opportunities for the public to provide direct, interactive comments and recommendations for the proposed plan during the meeting. Everyone is welcome, including individuals with disabilities and organizations representing them.

Your input is essential to guiding future improvements and ensuring Lake County is an accessible place for everyone.

How to Participate

  • Attend In-Person: Join us at the Lake County Central Permit Facility. Registration is recommended but not required. Register to attend.

  • Attend Online: The virtual option will include the opening presentation and provide an opportunity for input. Register to attend online.
