Introducing Envision 2050
We need your voice to plan for tomorrow’s roads, transit and paths.
Lake County is planning for the future of transportation through Envision 2050, a new Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). This plan will guide how transportation decisions are made and how projects are prioritized over the next 25 years, through the year 2050.
Transportation touches nearly every part of daily life, whether it’s how you get to work, how your kids get to school or how you access healthcare, shopping and recreational activities. By planning ahead, Lake County is working to make sure our transportation system keeps up with growth, supports safety and mobility and connects communities across the county.
Why this matters:
- The LRTP will help Lake County prioritize which transportation projects move forward.
- It helps Lake County when applying for state and federal funding.
- It addresses not only roads, but biking, walking and transit options for all residents.
- The LRTP ensures that transportation investments align with the needs and goals of the community.

Throughout this process, the public will have additional opportunities to share feedback through surveys, open houses and public meetings.
