 Career Transition for Military Veterans

The Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT) pilot program is an opportunity for veterans, veterans currently serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and their spouses to take control of their career through workshops to help meet their employment goals. OBTT provides employment preparation, education and opportunities that allow attendees to maximize their career potential.

 Turning Setbacks into Opportunities: A Workforce Journey Empowering Communities Through Partnerships

Tiara, a dedicated parent and community leader with extensive experience working for non-profit organizations, experienced an unexpected job loss last year. She received unemployment benefits for six months but then spent three months without any income. Facing challenges in providing for her family, she was excited to hear about a Job Center on the Move event at the North Chicago Community High School where her daughter attends.
