Honor Fallen Heroes on Lake County Memorial Day Website
When Memorial Day ceremonies were limited in 2020 due to the pandemic, Lake County launched a Memorial Day website as a way to continue honoring our fallen military service members. This virtual tribute wall allows family, friends and loved ones to recognize the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Fallen heroes are remembered with a star and an Honor Post, which includes their name, hometown, date passed, any special memories and photos. Visitors of the site can explore these posts to learn about the lives and legacies of fallen heroes from Lake County. There are stories about service members who died in battle on other continents and in multiple U.S. wars.
We encourage members of the public to continue this growing tribute by sharing stories of our nation’s fallen heroes. All new tributes received will be added to the site on Monday, Memorial Day.
