Lewis Avenue Corridor Public Meeting
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is hosting the second and final public meeting as part of the Lewis Avenue Corridor Modernization study. Everyone is invited to attend and provide feedback.

About the Study
The Lewis Avenue Corridor Modernization study extends from IL 137 to Belvidere Road, within the cities of North Chicago and Waukegan. The study is being conducted to evaluate and recommend improvements throughout the corridor.
The existing pavement is at the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement. The existing roadway has areas of missing and deficient sidewalk that contributes to safety and mobility issues for non-motorized travelers.
LCDOT's objective is to modernize the Lewis Avenue corridor to accommodate the future traffic and safety needs and improve non-motorized travel along the roadway.
About the Meeting
The meeting will be conducted in an open house format, so you may attend any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The meeting is being held to present updates from the first public meeting that was held on Feb. 23, 2023, present the preferred alternative, discuss next steps and receive public feedback. Public comments received by June 17, 2025, will be part of the official meeting record.
