- Veterans given priority during the first half hour.

While registration is not required, people who register will receive updates about employers, workshops, and other information to assist applicants in their job search.

 Career Transition for Military Veterans

The Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT) pilot program is an opportunity for veterans, veterans currently serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and their spouses to take control of their career through workshops to help meet their employment goals. OBTT provides employment preparation, education and opportunities that allow attendees to maximize their career potential.

Transition to a Career in Healthcare
Jose Juan first met representatives from Lake County Workforce Development when his employer announced a plant closure. At that point, Jose Juan had spent more than 10 years in production, but he wanted a job that would allow him to use his people skills. After researching and discussing options with his Career Specialist at Workforce Development, he selected the field of healthcare. He qualified for a training grant and was approved to begin healthcare courses at the College of Lake County.

Summary of Professional Services Summit |

Lake County Workforce Development held a panel discussion and job fair that focused on professional services in May. The event was held at the University Center in Grayslake and featured 5 panelists and 25 employers who shared opportunities in hard-to-fill positions in various professional sectors.
