Staff Spotlight

SMC Drone Pilots Take To the Air
Last month, SMC drone pilots Mea and Michelle worked with the Fox Lake Fire Protection District to get an aerial view of a completed project site in Fox Lake and gather data. FAA certified drone pilots are required to be able to see the drone at all times, and the tree cover in that neighborhood limited drone viewing from the ground. This work allows SMC to confirm our projects are working and being implemented properly. The data will also be used to create a Digital Elevation Model to compare to 2017 models to see how much the road elevations have changed.
Special thanks to the Fox Lake Fire Protection District for the assist!
