About the Watershed Plan The Manitou Creek-Fish Lake Drain Watershed Plan update will cover the portions of Lake County that drain to Manitou Creek, including the Fish Lake Drain watershed. The updated Watershed-Based Plan will identify practices, projects, and programs that can be implemented by stakeholders to reduce pollution and flood damage and protect natural resources. Your input and ideas are important.
Watershed Coordination Stakeholder involvement is key to the success of any planning initiative. This is an opportunity for landowners, townships, villages, park districts/departments, forest preserve districts, state agencies, non-profit organizations, landowners, and other stakeholders to coordinate land and water management activities for the benefit of the entire watershed.
About the Meeting The background, scope, and timetable for the watershed plan will be presented at the meeting. In addition, the meeting will cover goals and objectives for the watershed plan. We hope you will join and assist us in the planning process so that your community or organizational needs are adequately represented in the watershed plan.
