Dear Neighbors,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

One of the first issues a resident contacted me about was the inability of his deaf and hard of hearing family to watch our County meetings online, as the recordings had no captions. Last Tuesday, the Board approved a new policy adding captions and subtitles to all of our County meeting recordings, part of a larger upgrade of our systems that should be complete later this year. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m happy to see this step taken.

Quite a bit of good info below, including an update on the Oak Terrace Public Works project in Mundelein, a new Lake County Division of Transportation web site showing existing and planned shared-use paths, and locations for clothing and textile drop-offs (don’t throw out your old clothes!).

Take care,
