Early Voting
 Early voting is here, Lake County! Starting today, February 8th, voters can exercise their civic duty by casting their ballots at the Lake County Main Courthouse Lobby, located at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. The Courthouse voting location will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, until March 1st.
County-wide early voting will commence on March 4th and continue through March 18, 2024, providing ample time for voters to engage in the democratic process. For a complete list of early voting locations and further details, please visit bit.ly/LC_EarlyVoting.

Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega Appointed to the Ranked Choice and Voting Systems Task Force
We are pleased to announce that Lake County Clerk, Anthony Vega, has been appointed to the Ranked Choice and Voting Systems Task Force by the Governor's Office. The task force has been established with the explicit purpose of conducting a comprehensive review of voting systems and various methods of voting, including the examination of ranked-choice voting, which could potentially be authorized by law.
Anthony Vega's appointment to this critical task force underscores his expertise and commitment to ensuring fair and effective electoral processes. As Lake County Clerk, Vega has demonstrated a deep understanding of the intricacies of election administration and has shown dedication to upholding the integrity of the democratic process.
The Ranked Choice and Voting Systems Task Force will play a pivotal role in evaluating alternative voting methods and systems to enhance inclusivity, transparency, and efficiency in elections. Ranked-choice voting, in particular, offers a unique approach that allows voters to prioritize their preferences among multiple candidates, potentially leading to more representative outcomes.

Mundelein High School Transition Center Event

We are thrilled to announce the recent collaboration between the Lake County Clerk's Office and the Mundelein High School Transition Center, marking a significant milestone in promoting civic engagement and inclusion within our community. The Transition Center, committed to fostering independence and active adult lives through personalized planning and community involvement, joined forces with the Clerk's Office to offer a hands-on voting experience. Participants from the program had the invaluable opportunity to engage in a real-life voting simulation, utilizing the Express Vote machine and familiarizing themselves with the traditional voting process. Moreover, individuals who were not yet registered to vote seized the chance to register.
Special recognition goes to Laura Mellon, Mundelein District 120 Board Member, Michelle Banks, District 120 Transition Coordinator, and Superintendent Dr. Kevin Myers, along with the 6 participating districts (D120 Mundelein, D117 Antioch, D128 Libertyville, D124 Grant, D121 Warren, & D115 Lake Forest), for their dedication to making this event a success. As we look ahead, we encourage everyone to stay tuned for the announcement of similar events coming up this fall.

Election Judge Training
The Lake County Clerk's Office has been diligently preparing for the upcoming March 19 election by providing comprehensive training sessions for our new and returning Election Judges. With a commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of polling sites, these training sessions equip Election Judges with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold the integrity of the electoral process. Their dedication and hard work are instrumental in facilitating fair and accessible elections for all residents of Lake County. We extend our gratitude to the Election Judges for their vital role in safeguarding democracy, and we look forward to a successful General Primary Election on March 19th!

Are You Planning to Tie the Knot This Valentine's Day?

It's the season of love in Lake County! Are you planning to tie the knot this Valentine's Day? If so, please note that couples who want to get married in Lake County, Illinois, must first visit the website of the Lake County Clerk at www.LakeCountyClerk.info to fill out and print the necessary application. The printed application must then be submitted in person for a license at the County Clerk's Office, located at 18 N. County St in Waukegan. License application hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Marriage licenses in Illinois become valid one day after they are issued and are valid for 60 days. If you want to get married on Valentine's Day in 2024, you have until Tuesday, February 13 to submit your application! For more information, please visit bit.ly/Love-In-LC.
