The Lake County Division of Transportation is gearing up to reconstruct Arlington Heights Road, from IL 83 to Lake Cook Road, starting in 2024.
A reconstruction is needed to replace pavement that has reached the end of its useful life. The reconstruction will consist of removing the existing concrete, installing a new aggregate base, and replacing the roadway pavement with fresh asphalt.
This project should lead to a quieter ride through the area and the enhanced storm sewer system will account for higher rainfall totals. Non-motorized gaps as shown on this map will be filled as well. Expect to see crews out this winter conducting necessary work such as utility relocation and tree clearing in preparation for the construction season. Construction is expected to occur over two seasons: 2024-2025.
