The Lake County Clerk's Office Announces Increased Compensation For Pollworkers
The Lake County Clerk's Office is pleased to announce increased compensation for the diligent and dedicated pollworkers who play an essential role in ensuring the smooth conduct of elections within our community as a result of the recently approved budget passed by the Lake County Board on November 14.
The Office of the County Clerk relies on hundreds of community members to serve in a variety of roles to ensure adequate staffing for every election. It is the policy of the Office of the County Clerk to compensate these pollworkers for their time, training, and service in ensuring effective election administration.
Updated Compensation
Judges of Election:
- Check-In Judge: $225 (increased from $165)
- Voter Services Judge: $240 (increased from $195)
- Ballot Box Judge: $285 (increased from $205)
- Early Voting Judge: $15/hr (increased from $12/hr)
Election pollworkers undertake diverse roles crucial for the smooth functioning of elections, from check-in processes to managing polling sites and technical support for election equipment. Each role plays a pivotal part in ensuring a transparent and accessible democratic process for all community members.

“I Voted” Sticker Design Contest Winner
The Lake County Clerk’s Office is delighted to announce the exceptional talents showcased in the recently concluded “I Voted” sticker design contest. After receiving over 220 submissions from creative young minds across Lake County, three outstanding individuals have been selected as winners in their respective categories.
The winners of the contest are as follows:

Annika - Winner of the 6th through 8th grade category and our grand prize winner from all grade levels.

Caleb - Winner of the Kindergarten through 5th grade category.

Puja - Winner of the 9th through 12th grade category.

Annika's exceptional artistry secured the grand prize, earning the honor of having her design transformed into the official Lake County “I Voted” sticker in 2024! Annika is a 7th-grade student at Woodlawn Middle School. After learning of her victory, Annika had the following to say, "I'm so happy! I've entered many drawing contests before but I've never won. I'm super excited and can't wait to see my drawing in a sticker!"

Caleb, a 4th-grade student at Beach Elementary School, impressed the judges with his imaginative and vibrant design in the Kindergarten through 5th grade category.

Puja, a senior at Barrington High School, stood out in the 9th through 12th grade category with a design that captured the essence of civic engagement and creativity.

The Lake County Board Recognizes November 2023 As Election Hero Month
We are thrilled to share that on Tuesday, November 14th, the Lake County Board granted special recognition proclaiming November 2023 as Election Hero Month! This recognition was presented to Election Judge Supervisor, Isorelia Hernandez and County Clerk, Anthony Vega by County Board Chair, Sandy Hart and County Board Member, Jennifer Clark. The proclamation is in honor of the many election clerks, pollworkers, election office staff, and more who work diligently to ensure safe, secure, and accessible elections.
