Aqua Illinois Announces Reimbursement and Claims Process for Hawthorn Woods Water Outage

In recognition of the impacts from the Hawthorn Woods area water outage earlier this month, Aqua Illinois has announced a reimbursement and claims process for impacted customers. This includes Lake County Public Works (LCPW) customers in the Forest Lake and Hawthorn Woods/Glennshire subdivisions. 

Aqua Illinois is sending $100 gift cards to impacted customers that should be arriving in mailboxes over the next few days. Aqua Illinois also announced a reimbursement process, and we are actively working with them on the credit that will be applied to your water bill. A partial reimbursement will be provided to impacted LCPW customers in the near future.

Aqua Illinois has set up a claims process for this event. Customers may send claims related to specific damage to claimsil@aquaamerica.com. Each claim will be evaluated based on its merits and substantiation of the physical damage being directly tied to the water outage.

When submitting a claim, include your:

  • Name:
  • Address:
  • Phone No.:
  • Email:

And an Itemized list with:

  1. Amounts per each thing/item
  2. Receipts/Estimates if any
  3. Pictures
  4. Explanation of how the damage they claim is related to low pressure/outage

REMINDER: Hawthorn Woods Community Conversation 

Representatives from Aqua Illinois will be participants in a Hawthorn Woods Community Conversation on Monday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. with Mayor Dominick DiMaggio and the Hawthorn Woods Village Board regarding the recent Aqua Illinois water issues that affected several neighborhoods. 

The public, including Lake County Public Works customers in the Forest Lake and Hawthorn Woods/Glennshire subdivisions, are invited to attend. At the meeting, Aqua Illinois representatives will address a list of questions and concerns. Residents will have an opportunity to participate in the Public Comment portion of this meeting and ask questions directly to Aqua Illinois.
