Precautionary Boil Order Remains in Effect for Forest Lake and Hawthorn Woods/Glennshire Subdivisions

Lake County Public Works customers in the Forest Lake and the Hawthorn Woods/Glennshire subdivisions, and select customers of the Villages of Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer, were issued a precautionary boil order on Sunday, July 2. The precautionary boil order is still in effect and will remain until further notice.

Aqua Illinois, the water provider for these areas, has been experiencing difficulty with water delivery. The issue has caused the water system pressure to fall below the
acceptable level of 20 psi. Aqua Illinois' operations team is working diligently to increase water pressure and supply, and to have service fully restored as quickly as possible. Additional crews have been working around the clock to resolve the issue.

Lake County Public Works will continue to closely monitor its system that supplies water to the Forest Lake and Hawthorn Woods/Glennshire subdivisions.

Customers in this area who experienced loss of water service or low water pressure should boil their water at least FIVE minutes before using it. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.

The precautionary boil order will remain in effect until the situation is resolved and laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. At this time, there is no timetable on when the precautionary boil order will be lifted.

We will continue to provide updates on this situation until it is resolved.
