The Lake County Division of Transportation is beginning construction on Winchester Road this week from east of IL 83 to IL 21 in Mundelein and Libertyville.
Winchester Road will be resurfaced with fresh pavement and a new multi-use path will be constructed to connect with the existing trail system. A new box culvert will be installed over Bull Creek, which will require a closure on Winchester Road later this summer.
Work zone speed limit signs have been posted. Please watch for workers and trucks entering and leaving the job sites.
What's Happening Now
This week, the contractor is beginning sawcutting and removing curb and gutter and sidewalk. They also will be excavating east of the Metra tracks to IL 21 for the new multi-use path. The sidewalk over Bull Creek will be closed starting on Wednesday, June 28 to prepare for the culvert installation to occur later this summer. A pedestrian detour is posted.
