Construction is progressing quickly at our two projects on Kilbourne Road in northeastern Lake County. Please watch for workers and trucks in the coming weeks at the following locations:
Kilbourne at Wadsworth Road Intersection Improvement
The intersection at Kilbourne and Wadsworth Road in the Village of Wadsworth is being widened. Utility contractors are currently relocating facilities to allow for the new road and sidewalk improvements. Power lines are currently being relocated, and soon communications cables and gas lines will be moved. This utility work is expected to occur over the next several weeks. Learn more.
Kilbourne Road Resurfacing
Kilbourne Road is being resurfaced from Wadsworth Road to IL 173. The contractor has completed replacing driveway culverts and is finishing up roadway culverts. Crews have patched the roadway and are removing the existing shoulder to be replaced with a new stone base. Construction will focus on shoulder widening work for the next few weeks as they create bike-friendly shoulders. Motorists should expect delays throughout this project. Learn more.
