Join Us at the Public Meeting for the Lewis Avenue Corridor Modernization Project
Meeting is on Feb. 23 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at John R. Lewis Middle School
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is hosting a public meeting from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 to introduce the Lewis Avenue Corridor Modernization study.
The area being studied is a 2.9-mile corridor along Lewis Avenue from IL 137 to Belvidere Road in the cities of North Chicago and Waukegan.

Meeting and Project Purpose
The purpose of the public information meeting is for attendees to view the Lewis Avenue existing condition corridor exhibits, project traffic analysis, maps and project timeline at their own pace. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback to the project team.
The existing pavement is at the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement. The existing roadway has areas of missing and deficient sidewalk that contributes to safety and mobility issues for non-motorized travelers.
LCDOT's objective is to modernize the Lewis Avenue corridor to accommodate the future traffic and safety needs and improve non-motorized travel along the roadway.

The meeting will be conducted in an open house format, so the public may attend any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Exhibits will be on display and project team members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
