Adopt A Highway Open Enrollment Now Open
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is accepting enrollment applications for its Adopt A Highway program through the end of January. Consider signing up today. It's the program's 30th Anniversary!
Volunteers adopt a section of a county highway and commit to cleaning the roadside twice a year. LCDOT provides you with high-visibility safety vests, trash bags and safety information.
Participants must be at least 10 years of age and anyone younger than 18 years of age must have adult supervision.
This is a valuable learning experience for the volunteers who contribute a very important public service, promote civic responsibility and teamwork, and help the environment.
Yes! To acknowledge your effort, an Adopt A Highway sign with your group's name will be installed at the site of your clean-up.
Currently, there are 27 roads available for adoption.
- Open enrollment for cleanups this year runs through January 31.
