(Lake County, IL) Today, a Lake Forest man has been indicted on 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Paul Salgan, 41, was arrested in July 2022, at his home after the Lake Forest Police Department received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that Salgan had been using the internet to access images and movies that constituted child pornography.

“Thank you to the officers of Lake Forest and the Investigators of the State’s Attorney’s Office who investigated and captured this individual. We will continue to use the newest technology to make sure our children are kept safe,” Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart said.

After being arrested in July 2022, Salgan’s bond was set at $200,000 and he was able to post 10% cash, $20,000.00.

Under the SAFE-T Act, going into effect on January 1, 2023, defendants charged with sex crimes, such as Child Pornography, will not be granted bond before trial if a judge orders them detained.
