UPDATE: Highland Park Parade Shooter Indicted on 117 Counts
(Lake County, IL) - On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office presented its case to a Grand Jury to indict Robert Crimo III, on 117 total counts. Early Wednesday afternoon, the Grand Jury returned indictments on all 117 counts.
Crimo is charged with 21 counts of first-degree murder, 3 counts of first degree for each deceased victim. The defendant is additionally charged with 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm for each victim who was struck by a bullet, bullet fragment, or shrapnel.
"I want to thank law enforcement and the prosecutors who presented evidence to the grand jury today. Our investigation continues, and our victim specialists are working around the clock to support all those affected by this crime that led to 117 felony counts being filed today," State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart said.
Crimo is set to appear in court, in person, next Wednesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. for his arraignment. There will be no preliminary hearing on Thursday, July 28.
