Wadsworth, IL - The Lake County Division of Transportation will be closing 21st Street to through traffic for 35 days starting Monday, Aug. 15 at 7 a.m. The road is scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. The closure is necessary to replace a culvert on 21st Street east of the Union Pacific Railroad. During this time, the Union Pacific Railroad will make repairs to the railroad crossing.
Following the closure, work to resurface and add bike-friendly shoulders on 21st Street from Delany Road and IL 131 (Green Bay Road) will begin.
Detour Route: Delany Road to IL 173 to IL 131/Green Bay Road. Local traffic will have access on 21st Street from Delany Road east to the Union Pacific Railroad crossing and from IL 131/Green Bay Road to the driveways west of Timberland Trail. The work zone will be closed to all traffic.
