June 28 General Primary Election Complete

June 2022 General Primary Summary

On Friday, July 15, Lake County Clerk Robin M. O’Connor confirmed that the canvass of ballots cast in the June 28 General Primary Election was finalized and accurate. The results of each race as well as the three referenda are available at LakeCountyClerk.info

In the General Primary Election, 89,836 Lake County residents cast votes for candidates and/or referenda. They represented 18.35 percent of the total number of registered voters in Lake County. To provide an understanding of this complexity, there were 1600 unique combination of contests, or ballot styles, that needed to be prepared for the election and delivered to 104 Election Day and 18 Early Voting Sites. In addition, nearly 8,000 residents cast their votes by mail.

To run a smooth, secure, and accurate election, the clerk’s office counts on residents from across Lake County to serve as site managers and election judges. Ideally, there would be 1100 election judges, but as you can see for the most recent election, we had only 780. For more information about becoming an Election Judge visit ElectionJudge.Info.

First Time Voters!!

Across Lake County our election judges cheered on first time voters. Below are Jason, Mackenzie, Dennis, Maya, and Maksym who cast their first of what Clerk O'Connor hopes will be many votes to come.
