ARPA Community Input Nights
We want to hear from you!
Lake County is hosting three informational evening events, two in-person and one virtual, to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Residents will also be invited to share their input on how a portion of the ARPA funding could best be used on projects to benefit Lake County communities in the recovery and response from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The same program will be repeated at each in-person event. The in-person events will be in an open house format. These will kick off with quick remarks and a short informational presentation, followed by the opportunity to talk with staff to learn more about what we have done with ARPA and share your input on additional community needs. Please join us anytime between 5-7 p.m.
- July 11 at Greenbelt Forest Preserve
1110 S Green Bay Rd, North Chicago, IL 60035
- August 10 at Round Lake Beach Civic Center

Another way to provide input is to complete a survey we have available for all residents on how to best utilize the funds based upon the guidance from the U.S. Treasury. Please be sure to share your ideas and suggestions at LakeCountyIL.Gov/ARPASurvey.
After receiving more than $135 million in federal funding via ARPA, Lake County has a historic opportunity to invest in projects and programs to address the struggles that were brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and make our county more resilient to future challenges.
To date, Lake County has already committed $71 million in ARPA funding. The County continues to appropriate ARPA funds to meet immediate response needs, such as food distribution and housing programs needed in response to COVID-19. All ARPA money must be allocated by the end of 2024 and spent by the end of 2026. Learn more at LakeCountyIL.Gov/ARPA.
