RFP Process for Gun Violence Prevention Initiative Now Open

(Lake County, IL) The Request for Proposal (RFP) Process for the Gun Violence Prevention Initiative (GVPI) is now open and accepting electronic submissions.

The Lake County Gun Violence Prevention Initiative will partner with the community and law enforcement to address the root causes of gun violence, and implement proven short-term and long-term strategies, to immediately interrupt cycles of gun violence.

The intent of this RFP is to establish a contract with a qualified community-based organization (CBO) to identify and hire violence interrupters who will work to reduce gun violence, with an initial focus in Waukegan, North Chicago, and Zion. They will also help provide opportunities for those most at risk in our communities and keep them from engaging in illegal activities.

The deadline for CBOs to submit their proposal is July 6, 2022, 11 a.m. Finalist interviews will be conducted July 18 through July 22, 2022. The RFP is currently available on the Lake County website at: http://www.lakecountypurchasingportal.com.
