Butterfield Road to Close for Repairs at Metra Railroad Crossing

Libertyville, IL- Metra has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) that it will be closing Butterfield Road to through traffic from IL Route 137 to Winchester Road. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 and is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Wednesday, June 29. The closure is necessary to improve ride quality at the existing railroad crossing.
Local traffic will be allowed from IL Route 137 south to Old Barn Circle and from Winchester Road north to Virginia Avenue/St. William Drive. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
Detour Route: IL Route 137 to IL Route 21 to Winchester Road
