Clerk's Office Prepares for June 28 Election Day!

vote

Elections are the bedrock on which functioning democracies are built. And, with the General Primary Election quickly approaching, the County Clerk’s Office has been busy preparing for this election. We’ve been working diligently to ensure that the election happens securely, accurately, and without a hitch.  In addition to celebrating democracy, this month the Clerk’s Office is celebrating Pride Month and Juneteenth in recognition of the importance of freedom and equality in the United States.

Election Day: Tuesday, June 28

On June 28th, the General Primary Election will be held across the State of Illinois. This is the opportunity to cast a vote for either the Democratic or Republican candidates for Federal, state and county offices who will be on the General Election ballot in November as well as for local officials and public questions. Across Lake County, there are 569 candidates on the ballot. In addition, three local units of government have referenda that will be on the ballot.

Many voting sites across the county have changed. All registered voters should have received a new Voter’s Certificate of Registration Card that identifies their election day polling place and their congressional, state senate, state representative, and county board district, which may have changed as well. If you did not receive it, you can look up your voting site, the elected officials who represent you, and the candidates running for office on the Lake County Clerk’s VOTER POWER website. Follow this link: VOTER POWER.
